Who we are

A new standard for Arabic language care

We believe language does not simply emerge — it is shaped through relationships, environment, and intentional support.

Tashkeel brings clarity, depth, and care to how Arabic language development is understood, supported, and practiced. We work with families, clinicians, and institutions to close the gap in culturally grounded speech and language care.

Our name means "to shape" — and that is precisely what we do with every program, session, and resource we create.

Three pillars of practice

01
Language Science

Every program and resource we create is grounded in current research on how language develops — with specific attention to Arabic phonology, morphology, and bilingual development.

02
Cultural Rootedness

Arabic is not just a language — it is an identity. We design for the real lives of Arabic-speaking families, honoring dialect, context, and community.

03
Intentional Support

Whether in a clinic, a classroom, or a living room, language is shaped by relationships. We equip caregivers, clinicians, and educators with tools that are practical, warm, and effective.

Nuqta's Club — Language development sessions for young children at preschools, anchored in play, story, and wonder.

Caregiver Workshops — Practical sessions that give parents evidence-based strategies they can use every day, in their own language.

Mariam El Amin,
Ph.D., SLP

Mariam is a speech-language pathologist and researcher with over 10 years of experience in the field. Clinically trained in Lebanon and academically formed across two continents, she brings a rare combination of frontline clinical practice and rigorous research to everything Tashkeel builds.

Her doctoral work at the University of Georgia focused on culturally and linguistically responsive approaches to assessment — the exact gap Tashkeel exists to close. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Gulf Medical University. She is also co-founder of CSDisseminate, dedicated to making research accessible to clinicians, policymakers, and families across the Arab world.

Tashkeel is her answer to a question she has carried throughout her career: what does truly Arabic-first speech and language care look like?
